Deacon Chavez

Age 92, was born Feb 16, 1921 in Torreon, NM and passed away May 5, 2013 in Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Monica; four children; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; his daughter, Jessie Jacobsen, Fountain Hills AZ, and husband, Jake Jacobsen: son, David Chavez of Albuquerque and wife, Maggie and their children; daughter, Suzanne Palmer and spouse, Jeff and their children, Alyssa and Katie; daughter, Adrienne Chavez and her daughter, Maddie; daughter, Jessica Chavez; and son, Jeremy Clement of Las Vegas, NV and his spouse Jamie, and their children Dyson, Kailee and Tucker: daughter, Dody Johnston, Las Vegas, NV and her spouse, Erik, her children Jason Gilenson, daughter Nicole Gilenson and her son Kyle Jenkins, son Gabriel Chavez, Colorado Springs, CO spouse Brenda, their children Gabriel Ubaldo and Jaelan: Daughter Debbie Williamson and spouse Jerry, her son Daren Bryan, Sacramento, CA, her son Andy Jordan, Las Vegas, N V, his daughter Allie, and son Keith Jordan, Las Vegas, NV and his spouse Laura. On July 17, 2009 Mr. Chavez retired after 22 years as a deacon at Holy Ghost Parish. prior to that he spent 40 years as a building contractor. He was preceded in death by his parents Carlos Chavez and Amalia Carabajal, his sisters Emily Michelich and Nellie Gallegos and brother Charlie Chavez. He was raised by Nicolasita Benavides. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, May 8, 2013, 7:00 p.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108. Mass will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
