Dawn Kimberly Seals (Dehne) January 29, 1964-January 16, 2022
Dawn Kimberly Dehne was born January 29, 1964 to Susan Alice Moncrief Dehne, and Richard Brian Dehne, at K.I. Sawyer AFB, Michigan. She was named "Dawn" as her blue eyes, and roaring smile brought hope and happiness, as much as the new day.
Dawn was a "military Brat" throughout her childhood, into her late teens. Traveling far and wide, anywhere stateside, from California, Montana, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Florida; to Germany, Spain, Iceland, and Scotland. Her travels brought her all over the world, where she touched the lives of any and all who met her.
After returning to New Mexico in 1983, while working at UMSCO, she met her, now, husband, Kelly Seals. They were married in Oct. 1998. Four days later... joining the party was their first born, Ara Lee, who would start them on the ride of their lives. Always wanting a large family, they were blessed to bring their second daughter, Wendi Nicole, into the world. While the two girls were keeping both of her hands busy, a surprise! Nicholas Gideon, a baby boy was last to arrive, and the new family of five was as happy as could be.
Dawn kept very involved in her growing children's lives, volunteering as the Girl Scout Troop Leader, PTA mom, Band mom, and Karate mom. She was always front row, cheering them on the whole way; from their very first steps- to her oldest daughters High School Graduation-Dawn was prouder than any parent of her three children. As her kids began gain more independence, Dawn was still happy to be volunteering! She would foster and rehome: Turtles and Labradors, making sure they had the best life possible.
In between what seemed like working non-stop, she was able to travel to Scotland, with her mother-in 2003 and for a heritage trip in 2009, and an anniversary trip to Key West, FL with her Husband.
In her last year of life, Dawn had taken up breadmaking, she enjoyed spending her days experimenting with gardening, caring for her new pond, and would enjoy the spoils of her sweat and labors. She enjoyed cooking (especially from her garden), trying new recipes, and sharing them with her friends and family.
Dawn impact on this world, the footprints she left, reached far and wide; one of her favorite sayings was "Leave it better than you found it." She truly accomplished this, as there was not a paw or hand, she wasn't willing to help. Dawn walked through life with grace and elegance, holding strong values, and raising her children to pass on her everlasting kindness, hope, gentleness, and zest for life.
Dawn is preceded in death by her grandparents: Lt. Col. USAF retired Elvin G. Moncrief and Rose Muller Moncrief, Veteran Rodney F. Dehne and Mary Tuttle Dehne Birdner. Father: Lt Col USAF Retired Richard B. Dehne.
