David M. "Kawika" Treadwell

David Treadwell, age 60, aka "Kawika", died on August 28, 2016. He is survived by his father, George; and siblings, Paul, Claudia, Monica, and Michael. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Peggy, and nephews and niece, Brian, Rande (and family), Dominic, and Austin. David was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria, who is waiting to embrace him in Heaven.
He spent many years of his life sailing on large ships upon the Great Lakes to deliver bulk cargoes of rock, coal, sand, and iron ore to many ports along the lakes. He was an avid reader and had an excellent memory. He loved swimming and thoroughly enjoyed his many trips to Hawaii. David was very kind and generous to all. His pride and joy was his 1967 Mustang. He enjoyed talking about cars with his many friends and was an active member of several car clubs. He enjoyed close companionship from his best-friend Yorkie named "Sunny the Dog".
Friends and family may visit Wednesday, August 31, 2016, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming followed by a Rosary which will be recited at 6:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, September 1, 2016, 8:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2621 Vermont St. NE. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made to the American Cancer Society or a local animal shelter in memory of David.
