David L. Schneider

David L. Schneider of East Peoria, died at 4:36 p.m. on May 17, 2018.

He was born February 1, 1933 in Peoria, IL to Frank and Ada Couch Schneider.  He married Edith Selmer on August 31, 1957 and she preceded him in death.

David is survived by son, David of Tijeras, NM; and daughter, Jenny (Brett) Bailey of Port St. Lucie, FL.  David was employed at Caterpiller, Inc for 39 years retiring January 1, 1996.  He then worked as a field representative for the United States Bureau of the Census for five years.

He is a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era.  David attended First United Methodist Church in East Peoria, IL.  He was a member of the Robein School District 85 Board of Education for 14 years serving one term as president and secretary.  He was also the District’s treasurer for four years.  He was a member of the Fondulac District Library Board of Trustees for 17 years and served as treasurer for 15 years.

Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL at a later date.
