David Michael Wilson, 27, died at home on February 25, 2016. He was born September 13, 1988, in Forest Grove, Oregon to Richard Lee Wilson and Denise (Landry) Wilson. He graduated from Rio Rancho High School in 2007. In April of the same year, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps and left for Camp Pendleton in June. He served as a machine gunner in Golf co. 2/5, and Lima co. 3/5 in multiple deployments, including Afghanistan, as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. David was honorably discharged in July 2011 and returned home to Albuquerque.
He is survived by his mother, father, and three sisters, along with many loving family and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at FRENCH Lomas. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to Paws and Stripes at pawsandstripes.org, which is a non-profit organization helping veterans suffering from PTSD.
