• David G. McClelland (Dave), age 86, passed away January 12, 2024. Dave was known as the nicest guy on earth with the best sense of humor. His favorite quotes and words he lived by were "Choose to be Happy" and "Don't take life too seriously".
Dave was an Air Force Veteran. He was also known as Albuquerque's best appliance guy for decades. His shops included Apple Appliance and Microwaves of NM. He retired young and pursued so many interests: world travels, RV adventures, golf, NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys, live concerts, home construction, go-cart construction, family reunions, high-school reunions (for 60+ years!), film acting, and even babysitting (to name a few).
He is survived by his children Kelly Jo and David Michael, and his partner of 40 years Joanne Jimenez, her children Jimmy and John, and her many grand-children and great-grand-children. He is also survived by his brothers Donald, Edward, and James. He also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. Dave's life was also touched by his Breakfast Club pals, and his lifetime friends all over the country. Dave was preceded in death by his parents Catherine and John McClelland; his siblings Dorothy, Richard, Robert, Carl, Jack, and Fred ; Joanne's parents Joe (Chief) and Josephine Listek ; in-laws Gladys and Bill Milbourn, sister-in-law Connie Compton; nephews Jeffery McClelland and Kevin Staton.
An Interment Service at the Veteran's National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM will be on Monday, March 25,2024 at 1:30 p.m. The family will be meeting at FRENCH-Lomas at 11:30 a.m. to follow David to his final resting place in Santa Fe National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the "Glen Campbell Memorial Fund" to find a cure for Alzheimer's
