David A. Luna, 77, Of Albuquerque, Died at home on Sunday May 16th, 2021.
David was born on April 19th, 1944, In Albuquerque to Ernest (Chere) and Ruth Luna.
He attended and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1962.
The Man. The Myth, The Legend. Men wanted to be him, and women wanted to be "with" him. A Superhero to his children and one heck of a Grandpa! As an avid Fisherman and an Ace Golfer, David loved the outdoors and proved to be a fierce competitor, both on the water and the back 9. Loved by many and adored by most any and all who met him (especially the ladies). David was a wordsmith. It was said that he could sell a snow cone to an eskimo and salt to a snail. This was proven when he actually sold sand to the Desert as the Land Sales Manager at Amrep in Rio Rancho, where he broke records for land sales, and received award winning recognition. He would go on to also be highly successful as one of Sivage Thomas and later Pulte Homes top salesmen. He spoke (yelled) with eloquence and communicated concisely. He LOVED to share his thoughts and ideas, dreams, and desires to anyone who cared to listen. He repeatedly said that one of his goals in life, was to improve, by some measure, the lives of everyone he encountered. We believe he achieved that goal, as proven by the many improvements he made in all our lives. Devoted and sincere, his friendship will be sorely missed. (Just ask Joseph and the Ronnies'). He always looked forward to a friendly game of cards, right Ronnie? A lot can be ascertained by the fact that perhaps his favorite prose poem was called "Desiderata" written by Max Ehrmann in the 1920's. (we hope everyone will take a moment to look up this poem and read it). We will miss the fatherly wisdom, Jazz music, Baby Doll & Lil Bits will miss their Fridays with their Papa doodle, and a shot and a beer will never be the same again without him.
David was survived by his Brother Donnie & Sister Patty; His Ex-wives Caroline and Lynette; His children Laura and Eric; His Grandchildren: Iris, Emilio, Cyrus, Ezekiel, and Olive; as well as his nephews Adrian & Julian.
WE MISS YOU GRANDPA!
