David C. Bills

David C. Bills of Albuquerque, NM, formerly of Sioux Falls, SD, died peacefully on March 18, 2018. Dave was born on December 31, 1940 in Sioux Falls and grew up in Riverside. He graduated from Washington High School in 1959. He attended General Beadle State College and served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He was united in marriage to Edith C. Ostrem on July 21, 1962. His wife of over 41 years died February 28, 2004.

Dave spent his career in the electrical wholesale business and most recently spent over two decades with Border States Electric in both Tucson, AZ and Albuquerque, NM. In his over 45 year career he made numerous life-long friends and was always known as an honest, caring, dependable person. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and will be deeply missed. Some of his fondest memories were the times spent with his two sons playing in numerous father-son golf tournaments. He will be remembered by all of his golfing friends and partners who enjoyed spending time on the golf course socializing and playing. He was a life-long Minnesota Vikings fan and enjoyed UNM Lobos basketball.

Survivors include his son, Scott (Christine) and their children, Madison, Charles, and Jack; his son, Chris and children, Peyton and Nicholas. He is survived by Iragene Canter, his significant other, traveling partner, and dear and loving best friend.

Additional survivors include his sisters, Eunice (Lowell) Bye, Sioux Falls, and Geraldine (Stanley) Drenth, Sioux Falls; and brothers, Maurice (Shirley) Bills, Sioux Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Helen Bills; wife, Edie; brothers, Richard (Jane) and Howard (LaVonne) Bills; and sister Dorismae (Leroy) Brookfield.

There will be a Remembrance of Dave on Thursday, March 22, 2018, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at FRENCH – Wyoming in Albuquerque.
