David Barnes

Age 67, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, January 15, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Ann Carol Barnes, son, David S (Melissa) Barnes son, Randall Barnes, daughter, Jenni Cafarelli (Chad Spain) of Denver, CO; grandchildren; Randi, Erica, David, Jr., Noah, Lanee, Joseph and Hailey; great-grandchildren; Kristin, Cianna, Grace, Karley, Jeremiah and Desiree. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy F Barnes, mother, Hazel I. Barnes. He attended college in Trinidad, Colorado and graduated from the University of New Mexico. Dave joined the Army as a Military Police Officer during the Vietnam era as an attack dog trainer. He was also a member of the Albuquerque Police Department, from which he retired as a Sergeant after 26 years of service. After his APD retirement, he started his own firm as an accident Reconstructionist / expert witness service. In 2009, Dave returned to public service as a Department of Veterans Affairs Federal Police Officer. Funeral services will be held on, Monday, January 21, 2013, 2:00 pm at French - Lomas, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David S. Barnes, David S. Barnes Jr., Paul Anderson, Corey Ryan, Ray Gabaldon, Paul Heatley, Ralph Kemp and Ron Wueschel. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
