David F. "Epi" Atler

David "Epi" F. Atler, 41, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on December 19, 2015. He entered this world on May 14, 1974 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is survived by his wife, Vanessa Bernal; daughters, Samantha and fiancé Shayne Martinez, Alexandria, Marissa, and Isabella; two beautiful granddaughters, Alannah and Analissa Martinez; grandmother, Dina Atler, and mother, Denise Atler. He will be loved and missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Predicando and Erlinda Chavez; his paternal grandfather, David F. Atler; his father, Dominic Atler; two uncles, Daniel and Dennis Atler, and two brothers, Damien and Desiderio "Desi" Atler.
David was born to Dominic and Denise Atler as their oldest son. He was raised in Westgate, and was an active athlete in baseball and junior and high-school wrestling. He also had a passion for jamming on his axe like a pro.
A Rosary will be held Sunday, December 27, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, December 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Santuario De San Martin Catholic Church, 8321 Camino San Martin SW, Albuquerque, NM 87121, with an Inurnment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Pallbearers will be Dennis Atler, Donald Atler, Floyd Vigil, Gene Vigil, Felix Vigil and Shayne Martinez.
