Daryl "Dinny" Orth, age 89, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, died Monday, February 1, 2016 with his children at his bedside. He is survived by his children, Pamela Vath of Albuquerque, Karen Tomchuk and husband, Kenneth of Frisco, TX, Scott Orth and wife, Tamara of Edgewood, and Daryl "Bill" Orth, Jr. and wife, Mary of Las Vegas, NV; nine grandchildren, Brandon and Chrissie Tomchuk, Ryan and Jaime DiPaolo, Danielle and Blake McMillan, Joshua Vath, Caylon and Kelly Orth, Erin and Matt Dobias, Jaclyn and Hunter Howe, Ashton and Sergio Wong, and Nicole Orth; twenty great-grandchildren, Chelsey, Braden, Gavin, Kyndall, Makenna, Alex, Caylon, Addison, Easton, Collin, Kohen, Liam, Kylee, Tyler, Noah, Isabel, Branson, Elijah, Emerson, and Travis; sister, Margaret Guldgher; and numerous other relatives and friends. Dinny was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Orth; brother, Don Orth; and sister, Wilma Lyslo. He was born in 1926 in Redwood Falls, MN and graduated from Sleepy Eye, MN high school. After graduation he entered the United States Navy where he proudly served during WWII as a Navy Seabee. After the war Dinny married Marie Ubl and they were married for 50 years. They moved to Albuquerque where he began his career at Sandia National Laboratory, retiring in 1985. Dinny loved to travel, camp, and fish with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother and will be missed by all who knew him, especially his many friends. Cremation has taken place and a Life Celebration Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas followed by a reception at French Reception Center. At Dinny's request jeans are the preferred apparel. Interment will take place at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
