Darlena M. Allen

Darlena M. Allen, 83, a 37 year resident of Bosque Farms, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Carl R. Allen; her children, Richard Allen of Bosque Farms, Jackie Rayburn and husband JD of Los Lunas, Susan Gibson and husband Jamie of Ruidoso, Pamela Miller and husband Johnny of Farmington; 9 granchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Darlena is also survived by her sister, Shirley Posey of Byers, CO; and her brother, Billy Foste of La Junta, CO and many other family and friends. Mrs. Allen was born in Cheraw, CO and grew up in north La Junta, CO. She graduated from La Junta High School in 1950. Darlena enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV, sewing, crocheting, her rose bushes and collecting wind chimes. Darlena was a past member of the Daughters of the Nile Marching Unit and The Toastmistress Club. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed. Friends may visit Thursday, April 23, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University. Services will be Friday, April 24, 2015, 11:00 am at FRENCH - University.
