Darin L. Smith

Darin Smith, 48, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, May 15, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Katherine; sons, Justin Oertel and Zachary Smith; mom, Patsy Troutner; dad, Burton Smith, and step-mom, Nora Smith; brothers, Bret Smith, Vance Smith and wife, Kim Smith; mother-in-law, Angie Greer; nephews, Andrew, Stevan, and Eric Smith; and nieces, Autumn and Madeline Smith. Darin loved to ride his Harley motorcycle. He loved being outdoors, was an avid hunter and was feared by elk everywhere. He was very proud of his backyard in which he built a pond with a waterfall. He coached YAFL football for six years and was very proud of his boys. He also enjoyed his new hobby of "woodworking." He was a life-long electrician and was proud to work for Gardner Zemke for the last 15 years as a project manager. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Albuquerque First Baptist Church, 4101 Paseo Del Norte NW. Friends may visit one hour prior to services.
