Danny Lawrence Garcia

It is with deep sadness that the Garcia family announces the death of their beloved husband, padre, dada, and brother, Danny Lawrence Garcia.

Danny unexpectedly passed March 5, 2021. Danny is survived by his wife, MaryEllen Garcia; and beautiful children, Ariana Rae Garcia and her husband Tyler Schuman, and son Danny Uriel Santiago Garcia II.  Danny is also survived by his brothers, Allen Garcia and Eric Garcia.  Danny’s circle of brothers, sisters, family and friends are grieving the loss of a genuine man.

Danny was a dedicated public servant, serving the Albuquerque Police Department as a Detective for 22 years and ending his lifelong career in investigations as the Chief Investigator of the Federal Public Defenders Office.  Danny was a legend among men. He served his community with conviction and dedication working to ensure that the criminal justice system was just that, just.  His unwavering commitment to his mission was a privilege to witness. Although his career was dedicated to the public, it was his deep faith and love of his family that brough joy and light to the world.  His world revolved around his two children and was blessed to gain a son last year. The lessons of faith, the love of family, the value and honor of your word and dedication will live on through the generations of his family.

A private family rosary was held in Carnuel, New Mexico on Friday, March 12, 2021.  Danny was blessed to have his godmother, Eva Garcia officiate.  A Private Funeral Mass will be held.

A Public Memorial and Celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2021, 11:30 a.m. at New Beginnings Church, 4770 Montgomery Blvd NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87109.
