Dannette Elizabeth Villarreal, 67, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend, was called to her eternal resting place on February 22, 2018, after a long, valiant fight with breast cancer. She entered this world on January 20, 1951 in Albuquerque, NM, born to Johnnie M. and Helen B. Garcia. She graduated from Valley High School in 1968, and studied geology at Glendale Community College in Glendale, AZ, and at the University of New Mexico. Dannette was the most kind, loving person you could ever hope to meet. She never met a stranger, and was known for warm hugs. Her spirit stayed strong until her last breath.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert L. Villarreal; son, Scott Villarreal and his wife, Tamra Villarreal; son, Marty Villarreal; daughter, Danimarie Villarreal; grandsons, Robert, Nicholas, Maximus, and Tyler Villarreal. She is also survived by her sister, Dannelle Gundlach and husband, Bradley Gundlach and sister, Mary Ann Word and husband Terry Word.
A Rosary and Mass will both be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos Road NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107, Rosary to be held on February 26, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.; Mass to be held on February 27, 2018 at 9:00 a.m.
