Daniel R. O’Shea

Daniel R. O’Shea, age 89, World War II veteran, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2017.  He is preceded in death by Jean, his wife of 67 years.  He is survived by his son, Daniel.  Dan enlisted in the US Army before high school graduation and proudly served his country.  Jean and Dan moved to New Mexico from Watertown, MA in 1958.  Dan worked for the federal government for 33 years, retiring in 1993.  In retirement he enjoyed gardening and ceramics.  Friends may visit Wednesday, May 3, 2017, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Lomas followed by the Rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m.   The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 4, 2017, 9:00 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Road NE.  Interment will follow the celebration at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE.  In lieu of flowers, family and friends may donate to a local organization that serves wounded veterans who saw combat – the Department of New Mexico Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 1966, www.mcssl.com.
