Daniel W. Moreno, 56 years old, passed away suddenly on July 31, 2024, at the University of New Mexico Hospital. He leaves behind his family including his father; James B. Moreno, his mother; Mary Ann Moreno, his older brothers; Dennis and Christopher Moreno, and his older sister; Jennifer Moreno.
Daniel was born in Cleveland, Ohio, but he grew up in Albuquerque. As a young child, Daniel enjoyed sports, swimming, building rockets, being outdoors, and participating in the Boy Scouts. Daniel graduated from Highland High School and after High School; he attended the Technical Vocational Institute, earning a certificate in Commercial Printing. Later, he attended the Central New Mexico Community College, earning an Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer Information Systems in 2016. Following that, Daniel began pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Film at the University of New Mexico’s Fine Arts College. He was about to take the final two classes he needed to graduate, but was unable to do so due to his sudden death.
Daniel’s cremains will be interred at Sunset Memorial Park in the Urn Garden. Daniel’s life will be remembered by his family at a special celebration in the future where Daniel’s family and relatives will gather to remember how special he was and to celebrate his many contributions. The Moreno family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the following: the medical ICU Team at UNMH, Hoffman Hall Sober Living Homes, and the Salvation Army Rehabilitation Program for helping Daniel during his times of need. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Daniel’s name to the Albuquerque Garden Center and/or the Animal Humane Association of New Mexico.
