Daniel Metz

On Monday February 28, 2022, Daniel Metz, loving husband and father passed away at the age of 87.

Daniel was born in Brooklyn NY on July 15, 1934, to Morris and Martha Metz. He was the middle child of three brothers. He joined the Air Force in 1952 and served until 1956. He was a proud Korean War Veteran. After that he was an Air Traffic Controller from 1956 until 1972 where he was stationed at New York ARTCC and from 1972 until he retired in 1990, at Albuquerque ARTCC.

On March 15, 1959, he married Estelle Slater. They raised two sons, Richard and Michael.

Daniel was known for his dedication to his wife, his quick wit, his infectious smile and his kind and compassionate spirit. He will be missed.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Martha and his brothers Allen and Barry. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Estelle, his two sons and their families, Rick & Peggie and Michael and Vicki, and his three grandchildren.
