Dan R. Ly, (68), of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away while on vacation in Cambodia on Sunday, April 30, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Yong, and two children, Elizabeth and Anthony.
Dan was born in Sóc Trăng, Vietnam to Chin and Hien Ly. He grew up with his siblings, Hol, Duc, Ral, Ren, Ret, and Menh. In his 20's, he became a refugee of the Vietnam War. He eventually came to the US for a new beginning. He met Yong in Albuquerque, where they began dating. They got married in Dallas, TX and welcomed their children. Dan was a foreman at the Dallas Semiconductor. Dan and Yong then moved to South Mississippi and started their own gas station business. After several long, successful years passed, Dan and Yong moved back to Albuquerque to retire and live out the rest of their lives. Dan enjoyed gardening and singing karaoke. Dan always found joy in the little things in life. He will surely be missed.
