Cynthia Ann Sain passed away June 18, 2024, after complications from leg / hip surgery and diabetes. Family and friends surrounded her, listening to her favorite music when she left peacefully for her heavenly home.
She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on December 8, 1963.
She went to Manzano High School and enjoyed playing flute in band, something she had in common with her future life partner, Stephen. The saying that "opposites attract" is true. They met at a mutual friend's (Al Russo) band practice. The band, Beyond Reach was practicing one evening where their life together began.
Cindy's friendly nature, drive and attitude allowed for steady employment in retail sales, security, management, and as a sales area coordinator. She enjoyed working and did so until her health declined. She easily found employment in every state she lived including New Mexico, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and California. She was only briefly unemployed while living in Vancouver, British Columbia where she then turned her focus to baking. Cindy absolutely loved sharing job and customer related experiences. She had a story for every occasion.
Cindy gave life to a beautiful son, Nicholas. She nurtured and loved him as he grew. She supported him through all life's activities, home, school, soccer, basketball. Nick got his strength of heart and mind from her.
Cindy had a voracious appetite for anything to do with food preparation; cookbooks, cooking shows, food competitions, and shared recipes. She was always trying new meals and dessert ideas with her family. Mealtimes were always an event at the house!
Her Green Chile Chicken Enchilada was so delicious the recipe found its way into many friends and family members homes. For dessert, her Rocky Road Fudge Bars were a decadent delight. When Nicks friends appeared unexpectedly at the house Cindy was always prepared to feed them.
Cindy enjoyed bingo and visits to the casino with friends and trying new restaurants. She liked to watch game shows and was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys. She loved her pets, loving to hold and snuggle her cats and dogs. She loved the color purple.
Cindy could be stubborn and lived life on her terms, doing what she enjoyed.
Cindy was kind and loyal and loved by her family and friends. A devoted mother and wife. We will always love her. She will forever be in our hearts. Thank You for the life, love, support, and happiness you gave. Thank You for the beauty you brought to our world.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her father, Joe Valencia. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Stephen Louis and their son, Nicholas Jacob; mother, Celia Valencia; Brother Frank and spouse, Lisa and sons Eddy, Austin and Dominic Rubio; Sister, Peggy Megginson and spouse, Rich and their sons, Logan and Torrin.
