Cynthia Kay Miller

Cynthia "Cindy" Miller, age 58, a resident of Tijeras, NM for eleven years, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Randy Miller; children, Russell Miller and wife, Melissa, and Sarah Miller; grandchildren, Wyatt, Dillin, Jesse, Billy, Tirsah, Sheridan, Clara, Ethan, and Rory; parents, Kenneth Higgins and wife, Liz, and Marietta Harmon; siblings, Dale Higgins, Harold Higgins and wife, Terry, and Russell Higgins and wife, Lori; step-siblings, Bobbi, Becky, and James; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends. Cindy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry and Mary McAdams and Arthur Higgins and Enona Schmidt; step-brother, Donny Bushong; and step-father, Bill Harmon.

She was born in 1958 in Riverdale, KS and grew up and graduated from Lyons High School in 1976. She and Randy were married in July 1976 and lived in Texas, Kansas, Wyoming, and Minnesota before moving to New Mexico.  Cindy worked for a time as a Realtor Assistant in Cedar Crest but spent most of her time at home, remodeling it from top to bottom. She and Randy built a cabin in Wyoming and she loved spending time there. She was a long time member of Valley View Christian Church.  Cindy was a very quiet person, preferring to do things behind the scenes.  She loved being a wife, mother, and grandma, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Monday, July 31, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Christian Church, 170 State Rd. 344, Edgewood, NM.  Interment will take place at The Lyons Cemetery in Lyons, KS on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Cindy's name to Valley View Christian Church Backpack Program, 170 State Rd. 344, Edgewood, NM  or the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
