Crescence Louise "Chris" Frank

July 24, 1919 — December 24, 2015

Crescence (Chris) Louise Frank, 96, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, died December 24, 2015. She is survived by her son, Donald Frank and his wife Kathleen; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Col. Donald H. Frank, USAF (Ret.); her parents; brother, Ellsworth Smith; and sister, Arlene Smith Swinsick.
Chris was born to William and Jennie Smith on July 24, 1919 in Wellsboro, PA and graduated from high school there. She and Donald married in 1943. Donald served in the Air Force for 30 years and the family was stationed across the United States and the Far East. Chris supported her husband's career in both military and U.S. Embassy assignments. While in San Bernardino, CA from 1960-1964, she volunteered as a medical assistant in the military clinic. She and her husband retired to Albuquerque in 1970. She enjoyed singing, walking, dancing, traveling, entertaining, working in several retail stores, and being with family. After her husband's death in 2007, Chris moved to Duluth, MN and then later to Superior, WI to be closer to her son and daughter-in-law. She was a devoted mother and wife, and truly enjoyed life. Her husband and family were her life.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, June 23, 2016, 11:00 a.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
