Coryn Stroman Klein

d. June 22, 2016

Coryn Stroman Klein, 85, passed away gently in the morning on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. She was on her way home from a journey to South Texas (Hebbronville), where she got to smell the air, see the sights, and be with beloved family members one more time. We know in our hearts that this enabled her to move on, to be once again with her parents, Thomas Pendelton and Edythe Camille Stroman; her brother, David Charles Stroman; our father, Lawrence Ross Klein; and our brother, Stuart Thomas Klein who has passed before us. She will be remembered as an amazing wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, and also for being an awesome teacher for close to 30 years at Mitchell Elementary. She was very proud that she was able to help shape many young minds to be a part of society. Coryn is survived by her daughter, Pamela S. Hill; daughter and son-in-law, Heidi and John Nelson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Seymore Itzkoff, Linda and Al Genung, Bonne Stroman, and Donna and Jay Snelling; grandchildren, Nathan Mitchell and Elizibeth Hill, Karen Beth and TJ Thayer, Lauren Tressa Hill, Simona Lonei Nelson, Ian Thomas Nelson, Emily Coryn Nelson, and Meg Rose Nelson; great-grandchildren, Audrey Grace and Brody William Hill, Jasia Angeline Moseley, Chamberlain M. (Matt) Thayer and Haleigh Coryn Thayer; nieces and nephews and their children who loved their Aunt Coryn very much. Our parents gave us all a passion for the mountains that surround us. Mom gave us all everlasting memories of our lives with all of the scrapbooks she made and taught us to make. Coryn was an avid knitter (all family and many friends have personalized Christmas stockings she knitted) and a gardener of roses. The music she loved in life was the music of Broadway shows, and thanks to her sister and brother-in law, Linda and Al Genung, she was able to see many shows in New York on Broadway. She was also an avid traveler, loved to share her adventures with others, and would often fly all the way up to Washington State just to see one of her grandchildren in a play. Coryn was just as faithful at home... never missing a grandchild's concert or game while she was able and in good health. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016 , 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. We ask that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
