Corine Mares

MARES, CORINEBorn Corine Chavez in Albuquerque in 1919, Corine, 93, died unexpectedly and was welcomed into the arms of her loved ones on Tuesday, January 8. She was a life-long resident of Albuquerque. Corine is survived by her son Robert, brothers Charlie and Ricardo, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Dionicio and Monica, her infant daughter, sisters Gavina and Lucille, brother Dennis, and many friends. Corine was a dedicated member of the Holy Ghost Catholic parish and retired from the receiving department at Sears in the 80's. Among her many interests were painting, spending time gardening in her yard, and participating in numerous activities at the Highland Senior Center. One of her most enjoyable rituals was ordering a bowl of posole, a carne adovada burrito and a Diet Dr. Pepper at the Frontier Restaurant several times a week. Rest in Peace Corine. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013, 10:00 am at FRENCH - University. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
