Connie Alexander

Connie Sanders Alexander, 80 of Albuquerque passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015. She was born on June 4, 1934 to Maj. Gen. Homer L. "Tex" (USAF) and Frances (Stanfill) Sanders in San Antonio, TX. She grew up in a military family and lived all over the world. She graduated high school in Hampton, VA and then attended the University of New Mexico where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She met William Randell "Randy" Alexander while at UNM and they married in 1956 in Albuquerque. While Randy was in the Air Force and in graduate school, they moved to various locations including 10 years in Hamilton, NY. They returned to Albuquerque in 1976 where they have since lived. She owned and operated Gold Diggers Jewelry Stores with her sister Joyce Lang and later had a successful career as a Realtor for over 20 years with various agencies including Coldwell Banker and Better Homes and Gardens. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Randy Alexander of Albuquerque, daughter Amanda Alexander Ford (Peter) of Carnation, WA; son Robert Randell Alexander of Helena, MT; grandchildren: Alexander Sewell Ford of Seattle, WA, Eleanor Frances Ford of Portland, OR, John Alexander (Shawna) and Darren Alexander (Alyssa) and her great grandchildren, all of Helena, MT; sister Joyce Lang of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Thomas Langham Alexander and brother Edward B. Sanders. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at FRENCH-Wyoming with a reception following.
