Clyde “Skip” Stanley Skinner, age 70, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.
Skip was born in Warren, Ohio to Charles Skinner and Ruth Freer Skinner. Skip served 24 years in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. During his time in the Navy while stationed in Sigonella Sicily, Skip met his future wife, Sally. He often joked, “I was her boss, but now she’s the boss.”
After Skip retired from the Navy, the family relocated to Albuquerque, NM. Skip began another career working for YES Housing, Inc. He retired for the second time after 25 years as Senior Vice President and CFO Emeritus. He loved the entire YES Housing staff.
Skip enjoyed golfing, target shooting, riding his motorcycle, painting, and most importantly, family time.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Sally Gallegos Skinner; and two beautiful daughters, Tanya Skinner and Ashley Skinner; as well as two granddaughters, Auburn Martinez-Skinner and Kyleigh Alcantar, that brought him great Joy. Skip is also survived by his siblings, Denise Gladd (PA), Donna Gatrell, Rhonda Allen, Paul Skinner, and Rick Skinner (OH).
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2020, 10:00 a.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming, Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
