On Friday, February 25th, 2023, Cliona Angela Waller, loving mother of two children, passed away at the age of 88.
Angela was born April 1st, 1934 to Clifford W. and Ona Scott Waller, at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo, Texas. She later attended Del Mar College and Texas Women's University, majoring in Russian Studies. She married her first husband, Elgie Victor Raymond, in 1954, raising two sons, Reid and Victor. Angela and Elgie separated in 1973, and later divorced.
Angela was an intellectual and creative person. She was an artist, showing talent in painting and graphic arts, working as a commercial artist when she met Elgie. She also read avidly, including poetry, literature, and non-fiction. She was particularly inspired by the work of Pablo Neruda and other South American and Latin American poets, collecting their works and the writing of authors from around the globe. Angela had a practical side, working as an independent contractor as a means of supporting herself, beautifully remodeling homes for many years. Fiercely independent, she regularly read the Sunday New York Times, followed current events closely, and considered herself a political liberal. In 2005, she moved to Albuquerque to provide care for her grandson, Frederick Swiftbird Raymond, until his death in 2015.
Angela was preceded in death by her mother and father, and her ex-husband. She is survived by her sons, Reid and Victor, and her brother, Clifford Scott Waller.
