Clinton George Shirley

We are heartbroken to announce that Clinton George Shirley was unexpectedly called home on December 10, 2021.

Clint is survived by his wife, Estie and daughter and son-in-law, April and Ron as well as his sisters--Donna, Patsy and Cathy; brother Don, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his sister Betty, and several other family members over the years.  Clint honorably served his country in the U.S Navy and earned his Master's Degree in Nuclear Engineering at the University of New Mexico.  He was employed at several technical institutions, retiring as a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff in 2005 after a long career at Sandia National Laboratories.

Clint enjoyed traveling, camping, playing pool, boating and fishing with his family and friends.  He was a generous and intelligent man who loved science fiction movies and books, and challengingly tough crossword puzzles.  He lived a good and honorable life and his family misses him dearly.

Cremation has taken place and a small gathering of friends and family will be held at a later date.
