Clarence L. Davis, Jr., 73, of Edgewood, New Mexico, passed away at his home with his wife, Edith Stape-Davis by his side, in the early morning hours of May 27, 2013. He was born in Madison, WI to Clarence Davis, Sr., and Dorothy Gorzelitz on June 21, 1939. He married Edith Stape on August 15, 2003 and she survives him. Also surviving him are his children, Patrick Davis and his special friend, Lori Nelson of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, and Patrick's children, Abbey Davis, Emilee Custer and husband, Robert and their children, Zachary, Travis, Nathan, and Jason; son, Donald Davis and his wife, Tammy of Plover, WI and their children, Tyler and Dylan; grandchildren by his deceased son, Clarence Davis, Jr., who are April Konkol and her children, Alex and Riley and Stephanie Davis and her children Kane, William, Isaac, and Prince; daughter-in-law, Susan Wanta of Custer, WI and her children, Mark Wanta and his wife, Nicole and their children, Joel and Collin; Amy Yaeger and her husband, Nick and their children, Meghan and Ashley, Jodi Wanta, and Todd Wanta and his wife, Adrienne and their son, Clay; son, Richard Wanta and his wife, Pam of Stevens Point, WI and their children, Matthew Wanta and his wife, Angela and their children, Michael, Anthony, Marcus, and Allyssa, Nick Wanta and his wife, Heather and their children, Meghan and Mackenzie, Jack Wanta, Aaron Wanta and his special friend, Michelle Gear, and Jessica Nowak and her husband, Chris and their children, Ruby and Alex; son, William Wanta and his wife, Jackie of Grand Rapids, MI and their son, Scott Wanta and his wife, Christine and their children, Amber, Lee, and Riley; daughter, Jean Zarecki and husband, Ken of Junction City, WI and their children, Joseph Jisko and his wife, Danielle and their children, Brooke and Jesse, Kimberly Jisko and her children, Telycia and Matrix, and Daniel Jisko and his wife, Maria and their children, Catalyna and Daniel Jr.; son, Ernest Wanta and his wife, Linda of Stevens Point, WI and their children, Mike Wanta, Nichole Monzon and her husband, Chuck and their children, Alina and Claire, and Trisha Taylor and her son, Kaiden; and son, John Wanta of Pittsburgh, PA; son-in-law, Wilmer Stape and his wife, Lucy of Albuquerque, NM; nephews-in-law, Carl and Clyde Cookenmaster of Albuquerque, NM; grandson-in-law, Dominic Stape and his wife, Jill and their children, Mia, Talia, Olivia, and Edward. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor Wanta; son, Clarence Butch Davis, Jr.; and son, Tom Wanta. Clarence grew up in Wisconsin on a farm and joined the armed forces as a young man. He married Eleanor Wanta and with her raised nine children. He worked as a truck driver. After her death, he began to travel in his RV. On a trip to the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, he met his soon to be second wife, Edith Stape and moved their permanently. Clarence was an honored member of several RV organizations namely Manzanita Sam's, Zia Roamers, and East Mountain Sun Chasers. He enjoyed traveling in his RV with Edith and other family, playing cards and spending time with all his beloved grandchildren. Clarence Davis was a wonderful, loving man, and will be dearly missed by so many. Services will be held Friday, May 31, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - University. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Friends may visit on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at FRENCH - University from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
