Clara Bow McCorkle, age 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1967, died unexpectedly Thursday, November 12, 2015. She is survived by her children, Tim McCorkle and wife, Anndra, Elizabeth McCorkle, Michael McCorkle and wife, Madelyn and Deborah Crespo and husband, Alberto; grandchildren, Stephen, David, and Stephanie McCorkle, Shawn Acosta; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Clara was preceded in death by her husband, SMSGT Clausell McCorkle, USAF (Ret).
She was born in 1930 in Alexandria, Louisiana and moved to Albuquerque where Clausell was stationed at Kirtland AFB after traveling abroad and stateside. Clara taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years at Kirtland Air Force Base Chapel. She loved to listen to Christian music and sewing was a favorite pasttime. Clara was a long time member of San Hedrin Assembly #69 of the Order of the Golden Circle. For many years, she served as treasurer. Clara was a cheerful, talkative, and very wise person who loved her family very much. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Friends may visit on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Services will be held at FRENCH - Lomas Wednesday, November 18, 2015, 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Darnell Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Family and friends are invited to share fellowship with the family at Grant Chapel, 7920 Claremont at 2:00 p.m. following interment.
