Christopher J. Bailey, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, mentor and friend had a heart attack March 19, 2018 while driving back from Santa Fe. Anyone who knew Chris loved him for his big heart and Great Spirit. He was an inspiration to those of us lucky enough to live in his world. He was a young 70 and taken from his wife, Judy of 50 years; his daughter, Abby; and grandchildren Joshua, Deanna and Diedra Lucero; and great-granddaughter, Valentina who became the love of his life from the minute she was born.
Chris worked in the telephone business from the time he was 18 and ran his own telecommunication business for the last 30 years. He was the oldest of seven children and was a big brother to most of the people that knew him. He was a generous boss, a mentor and a friend to the people he worked with.
Tennis was his sport of choice as was ready to play at the drop of a racquet. He loved the game and the tennis community, working on his game to be the best.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Jerome; and brother, Joe. He is survived by his mother, Helen; brother, Tim and his wife, Claire; and their children and grandchildren; sister, Marsha and her sons and grandchildren; Andy and his wife, Lori and their children, Matt and his wife, Susan and their children and grandchildren, and Lisa and her children and grandchildren.
Chris chose not to have a service, not wanting people to embarrass him by saying nice things. Go ahead and say whatever nice things you want to say and shed a tear if necessary but he catches you; may hear a little voice that says "Stop that". He will be missed.
