Christian A. "Chris MASTER BLASTER" Duran

.Born March 26, 1979, Chris was called to the Lord on October 13, 2014. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Mary Duran, Tony V. and Lucy Romero and Aunt Annie Corriz and cousin Gerald Lopez. He is survived by his parents Orlando and Sandra Duran; sister, Lucinda Duran; nieces Leyla and Desaray Duran, aunts Sandra Duran Poole and husband Chad, Edwina Montano and husband Gilbert, Sylvia Newton and husband Tom; uncles, Michael Padilla and wife Jackie, Pat Romero and Steve Romero; and many cousins. Chris was born in Albuquerque and raised in the East Mountains and attended the Albuquerque Schools. Being raised around construction, Chris showed an interest in sand blasting at an early age. At age eleven he attended the NM State Fair where he had a sketch of him holding a sandblast hose and the name "Master Blaster" originated. Chris eventually started his own business, which was his greatest passion and among his most prized accomplishments was working at Space Port America. Chris traveled to many states in the continental United States Alaska and Mexico. Alaska was his favorite destination, where on his first fishing charter he caught his first king salmon on the Kenai River. Chris loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his dad barbequing, a weekend ritual. He was a very kind and compassionate person. He was loved and will be truly missed. A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2014, 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming. Funeral service will be held Monday, October 20, 2014 10:00 a.m. at Second Presbyterian Church. 812 Edith Blvd. N.E. interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. If desired, donations may be made in Chris's memory to the Second Presbyterian Church Deacons.
