Christ W. Kirikos, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great - grandfather, brother, son and friend, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022, at the age of 84. Christ was born Monday, May 2, 1938, in Albuquerque, NM, to William "Bill" Kirikos and the former Georgia Capels. He met the love of his life, Phyllis, who he married in 1960, followed by two children, and 57 wonderful years of marriage.
Christ proudly served in the US Army for 21 years, retiring as an infantry Major in 1977. He served in both Korea and Vietnam, receiving many military decorations which included Combat Infantryman's Badge, Meritorious Service Medal, RVN Gallantry Cross with Bronze Star, RVN Gallantry Cross with Silver Star, RVN Gallantry Cross with Palm, Air Medal, Bronze Star Medal, and Army Commendation Medal. He treasured the many friendships he developed during his years in the military, many of whom he kept in close contact with.
After retiring from the military, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning his own café, enjoying 20 years of business, working alongside his wife and son, where he made many lifelong friendships.
Attending soccer and basketball games for his three granddaughters brought him much joy, and he became affectionately known as, "Papou" to all players and parents alike.
Christ enjoyed life, his family, and many friends, and always had a smile on his face and a joke to share. He was a great man, always thoughtful and caring to all who knew him, and we will be greatly missed.
Christ leaves behind is daughter; Tina Rudolph, (Michael); son William "Bill" Kirikos; stepdaughter Linda Roden (Robert); granddaughters Desiree and Victoria Kirikos, Amanda Brazier (Chris), and Brianna Rudolph; great- granddaughter Jordyn Brazier; sister Maria Post, many nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
Christ was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; parents William and Georgia Kirikos; brothers Michael and Gus Kirikos; sister Irene Harte; and nieces Lisa and Allyson.
A private family burial with full military honors will be held at Sunset Memorial Park.
