On Sunday, February 26, 2023, Chester Leroy 'Lee' Hill, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and great-grandfather passed away at the age of 78, at his home in Albuquerque, NM.
Chester 'Lee' was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Joseph Hill and Priscilla Sears on January 8, 1945. He married Aurora 'Norma' Hill on August 28, 1964, in Victoria, Tarlac, Philippines. He was a veteran of Vietnam and served in the United States Air Force for 26 years. He was involved with Amateur Ham Radio, American Legion, Single Action Shooting Society (S.A.S.S.), and a member of Hoffmantown Church.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents; Joseph Hill and Priscilla Sears; his brothers, Joseph E. Hill and David A. Hill.
Lee is survived by his wife, Aurora 'Norma' Hill. Daughters: Jean Hill and Janet Hill; brothers: John A. Hill, William E. Hill; and sister, Ida B. Petrosky; and half-brother, Wayne Hill and half-sister, Joanne Hill; grandson, Stephenson Tillet III (Alexis), and granddaughter, Marissa Hill; great-grandchildren: Adlemmy, Keanna, Aiden, Nehemiah, Zackaeus and two bonus great-grandchildren, Dazlyn and Chancellor.
Lee was best known for his love of eagles, his generous spirit, his joy for road trips, daily talks on the ham radio, shooting, and his quick-witted humor. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all that knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at Hoffmantown Church in Albuquerque, NM followed by a reception. The burial services will follow the reception at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd NE in Albuquerque, NM.
