Chester Claghorn, 81, beloved husband and father, was called to his eternal resting place on March 26, 2015. He entered this world on October 16, 1933, in Little Rock, AR, born to James and Mary Claghorn. Chester retired from Sandia National Laboratories after 36 years of exceptional service as a Mechanical Engineer. He served with distinction for 40 years in the United States Army, New Mexico Army National Guard, and Army Reserve retiring as a Colonel. He is a graduate of New Mexico State University with a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and is a graduate of the National Defense University Industrial College of the Armed Forces. A devout family man, Chester is survived by his wife of 58 years, Tina Claghorn; his six children, Ron Claghorn of West Richland, WA, Julie Small of McLean, VA, Karen Vianco of Albuquerque, NM, Kathy Vasquez of Herndon, VA, Brian Claghorn of Albuquerque, NM, and Audry Almengor of Edmond, OK; 19 grandchildren; and three brothers, James Claghorn, Jr., Eugene Bell, and Kenneth Bell. He is preceded in death by three brothers, Howard Claghorn, Charles Bell, and Gary Bell. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at 10:00 am at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE. Entombment will follow at the Chester T.
