Charles Allen McCarty, 62, beloved father and husband, passed away on October 18, 2015. He entered this world on November 3, 1952 in Columbus, GA and shortly thereafter moved to Lynnville, TN. He graduated from Campbellsville High School in 1970, and immediately joined the US Air Force, from which he retired at the rank of Master Sergeant after serving 21 years. Upon retirement in 1991, Charles and his family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was known for his charming personality, warmth, generosity and friendliness. Charles was deeply devoted to his wife and family.
During his retirement he enjoyed several hobbies that included writing poetry under the name "Tennessee Charlie", traveling, cooking and collecting cookbooks.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charlie McCarty; mother, Norice Jean Black; step-father, James Black; and brother, Larry McCarty.
Charles is survived by his wife of 44 years, Maria L. McCarty; children, Charles P. McCarty and wife, Zenaida McCarty, Brian McCarty, Elva M. McCarty and husband, Marcus J. Hunter; grandchildren, Ashley M. McCarty, Kayla A. McCarty, Ethan W. McCarty and Morgan J. McCarty Hunter; sister, Beverly L. Black and let's not forget his Beloved American Bulldog, Buddy; and many cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 27, 2015, 3:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas.
