Chuck Hilger, age 80, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend was called to his eternal resting place on Friday, February 11, 2022. He was born on Thursday, December 4, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio. Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Lily; son, Dwayne Hilger; and sister, Margaret Johnson (Hilger). He is survived by his sons, Chas Hilger, Tom Hilger, John Hilger, and Rich Hilger; daughter, Lynn Pham; Chas's family members, Denise Hilger, Zack and Krista Saadi, Nick and Scout Saadi, and Jake Saadi; Tom's family members, Patty Hilger, Nolan Hilger, Olivia Hilger, and Quinn Hilger; John's significant other, Crystal Walton; Rich's family members, fiancée, Janine Hudson, Maryia and Sean Torres, Isaac Hilger, Alyssa Hilger; Lynn's family members, Leslie and William Collishaw, Long and Denise Pham, and Thao Pham; Dwayne's children, Candice Hilger and Kyle Hilger; great-grandchildren, Xavier Hilger, Mark Saadi, and Tristan Torres; sisters, Charlotte Hardy (Hilger), Kathy Guenther (Hilger) and her husband, Tom Guenther. Chuck proudly served and retired from the United States Airforce. He worked with the Albuquerque Police Department for many years and had a deep respect for law enforcement. He was a devout member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved his family, his country, playing cards, bingo, and traveling. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, March 3, 2022, 3:00 p.m. at FRENCH -Westside followed by visitation and refreshments. A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Westside. Interment will take place on Friday, March 4, 2022, at the Gate of Heaven Garden Mausoleum. Those who wish to attend the burial may follow in the procession from FRENCH - Westside (departure time will be following the memorial service). Pallbearers are family members: Chas, Tom, John, Rich, Isaac, Long, and William. Honorary Pallbearers: Israel Salinas, Marty Cantu, Jim Lewis, Lou Black, Ray Chavez, Richard Espinosa, John Brault, and Cliff Cizan. The immediate family would like to thank all of Chuck's family and friends in and around Mentor, Ohio. You took such great care of him. He loved you all dearly, and we truly appreciate you. We would also like to thank The Albuquerque Police Department Motor Unit.
