November 21, 2024, marked the beginning of Charles S. Hatala's next journey. Charles was born in Mkees Rock, PA on January 14, 1941, to parents, Charles P. Hatala and Mary Buckco who preceded him in death.
Charles graduated from high school in 1958. He served in the Army for 3 years and was stationed in California, Fort Hamilton, NY, and Germany before being honorably discharged from the Army in 1965. After serving in the Army, Charles moved to California. Charles stayed in California and attended Cal Poly Pomona, graduating with a degree in accounting.
Throughout his career, Charles made significant contributions to the accounting field, particularly in the agricultural sector. As CFO of a large produce company, he was instrumental in streamlining financial operations and enhancing profitability. His tenure at Index Fresh Avocado Company further solidified his reputation as a skilled and dedicated financial leader, where he played a key role in the company's growth and success until his retirement.
One of Charles' fondest memories was a trip with his brother to Albuquerque, New Mexico during the Balloon Fiesta. Charles's brother, Robert Hatala preceded him in death.
Charles loved his family and survived by his wife, Ellen Kairot Hatala and his son, Charles Jason Hatala, as well as his siter, Mary Grace Hatala Romac. Charles is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Charles passed away peacefully at home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
There will be a memorial service on January 17th at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints is located at, 2807 Cabezon Rio Rancho, New Mexico 87124.
