DICKINSON, CHARLES LYLE "CHUCK"Charles Lyle "Chuck" Dickinson, age 79, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Tona Lee Dickinson; sons, Kenneth and wife Christine; Lowell and wife Kandace, and Lawrence; grandchildren, Lael Tona, Charles William and wife Miho, and Katherine Lee; and by his brother, Bruce Dickinson. He was preceded in death by his son, Keith Dickinson; parents, Lisle and Eva Dickinson; and sister, Dorothy "Dotty" Payne. Chuck was born on his grandparents' ranch near Bridger, MT and grew up in Compton, CA before moving to Albuquerque in 1949. He was a graduate of Highland High School and earned a bachelor's degree in business from UNM. Chuck served two years in the United States Army and during this time, he married his precious wife, Tona. He owned and operated Kirby Company of New Mexico for 27 years and received many awards for excellence due to his entrepreneurship and his positive thinking. Chuck was an avid private pilot, and also enjoyed skiing, supporting his sons in boy scouts and bowling but above all, spending time with his family and friends was most important to him. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Breakfast Lions Club, and the Knife and Fork Club. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at 2:00 pm at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 9500 Constitution Ave NE, with Rev. Roy Elmore officiating. Interment will be private. Friends may visit French - Lomas, Monday, October 01, 2012 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
