Charles passed away the morning of December 8, 2013 following severe consequences of several strokes. He was born in Millville, New Jersey on March 20, 1927. At age 9 he started a newspaper route using a borrowed bicycle. He was active in Boy Scouts and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. His son, Charles Joseph predeceased him. He is survived by his wife Doris, his son Bruce (Cynthia), son Glenn (Laura) children Skyler, Hayden, Grace, and Austin, his granddaughter Lesha Dickerson (Slane) her children Lyndi and Brady. Charles enjoyed former membership in a variety of organizations including the Albuquerque District Dental Society where he was elected Secretary-Treasurer, Vice President, and in 1970, President. He was active in the St. Andrews Scottish Society, serving several years as President. He also had membership in the Academy of General Dentistry. During World War Two, he left high school during his senior year to join the Navy. After discharge he attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. He later graduated from dental school at the University of Pennsylvania. He and his family moved to Albuquerque in 1960. He worked hard establishing a dental practice and volunteered at the Cleft Palate Clinic. He loved practicing dentistry and enjoyed bantering with his patients and acquaintances. His wit, humor and presence will be sorely missed. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Friends may visit Friday, December 13, 2013 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University.
