Charles Harold Davis

April 14, 1942 — August 11, 2023

Charles Harold Davis was born on April 14, 1942, to his parents Harold and Dora Amelia Davis. He passed away with his children by his side on Friday, August 11, 2023, to join his wife of over 52 years, Suzanne.

Charles was raised in San Diego, California with his younger sister, Sharon. Growing up he participated in football, rugby, track, wrestling, Boy Scouts, and also played the accordion. He graduated from Hoover High School in 1960. After 1 year of college, he joined the United States Army. He served 3 tours in Vietnam in the 5th and 6th Special Forces Group. He retired as a Major after 20 years in the Army. Charles and his family then moved to New Mexico. He spent 6 years working for UNM-LA before joining Los Alamos National Laboratory for 15 years. Charles completed his Bachelor's degree during his time in the military and ultimately completed his Master's from UNM. He and Suzanne loved to travel and enjoyed watching baseball. Charles went to baseball spring training in Arizona for many years, at first with his mother, then his daughter and ultimately, his grandson, Emery. When not spending time with family, Charles enjoyed spending time reading, completing jigsaw puzzles and learning about (and tasting) different beers.

Charles is survived by his son, Jon (Jeanine); daughter, Elizabeth (Bill); nephew, Cullen (Beth); and his grandchildren, Emery, Sara and Michael.
