C. Robert (Bob, Bobby) Campbell, 89, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at home.  He is survived by his wife, Kay; his children, Sean Campbell, Shannan Usiak (Wayne), Cortney Campbell, Colin Campbell (Lil), bonus sons Jordan Atcheson (Kaori), and Brandon Atcheson. He loved his grandchildren, Ryan and Christopher Campbell, Holly and Kyle Usiak, Tyler (Jordyn) and Aubry Campbell, and Rion and Theo Atcheson.  Bob was blessed with great-grandson, Bryson Campbell; and his twin great-granddaughters, Rylee and Sydney Campbell.  He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Harris. Many caring nieces, nephews, family, friends, neighbors, and his beloved dog, Beckett, will miss him greatly.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Ruth Campbell.

 He was an outstanding athlete at Albuquerque High School and The University of New Mexico with many awards in track and field. Bob served his country as a Specialist in the US Army Intelligence in the Korean War. Later, Bob's architectural career started as a Draftsman and saw him retire as Principal/Partner at SMPC Architects (formerly Stevens, Mallory, Pearl, and Campbell).   He later served as President of NCARB, ensuring standards for licensure and credentialing of architects. As NCARB President he and Kay traveled worldwide to Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Malaysia. He was well-respected in the architectural field, serving as a mentor and friend to many.   

 A Celebration of Bob's life will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024, 11:00 a.m., at Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church, 1801 Montano Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM, with Pastor Frank Yates officiating.  His family would like to thank all the kind and compassionate people that touched his life.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the  UNM School of Architecture + Planning Dean's Fund. The Dean's Fund provides immediate assistance to the most pressing needs at the school.
