Charles Anthony, 87, beloved uncle, passed away on May 7, 2015. Charles was known for his love of music. Born in Grinnell, Iowa he moved with his family to Las Vegas, NM in the early 1930's to escape the Dust Bowl of that era. He served in the US Navy as a medic immediately after WWII in the Pacific Theater operating out of ports in California. Upon discharge he attended the University of California at Berkeley earning a BA and MA in Music. For over thirty years, he operated Anthony's Music Studio in El Segundo, California where he also was the long time organist and choir director for St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Upon retirement he returned to Albuquerque where he enjoyed his remaining years surrounded by family. He is survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as grand nieces and nephews. The last of his immediate family, he is preceded in death by his parents, Harry Elbert and Helen Buchart Brown; his brothers, Joseph Thomas, Gerald Jeremiah, Bernard Eugene, Philip Marion; and his sisters, Mary Josephine Bergkvist and Catherine Virginia Carnevali. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 4:30 to 5:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University. Service will be Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Entombment will follow.
