Charlene Chavez

Charlene Chavez, age 57, a resident of the East Mountains, died Friday, April 20, 2018, with family and friends at her side.

She is survived by her ninety year old dad, Charlie Chavez; one brother; one sister; her partner of 27 years, Sandra Allen; children; grandchildren; great- grandchildren; and numerous other relatives, many friends, and neighbors. Charlene was preceded in death by her loving mother, Betty Chavez.

Charlene was born in 1960 in Albuquerque and was a UNM graduate. She was a beloved social worker, case manager, and foster parent touching the lives of many in the Albuquerque and East mountain area, where she resided the last thirty years. Charlene loved the rodeo, the Denver Broncos, the Andy Griffin Show, and riding her tractor. She will be lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and the many people she touched with her loving spirit and kindness.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2018, 3:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Lomas.  Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Albuquerque Children's Home, 5700 Winter Haven Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120.
