Chad Edward Walde, Sr., 44 years old, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on June 28, 2017, of stage 4 glioblastoma brain cancer.

Chad was born in Iowa on November 10, 1972. He graduated high school and later continued on to receive a bachelor’s degree in business.

Angela Walde was married to Chad on April 10, 1993; they were married 24 years. Chad worked as a facilities maintenance manager for Los Alamos National Labs for 17 years. He enjoyed coaching his children’s sports, being part of Legacy Riders motorcycle ministry and was also actively involved in the Legacy Church Parking Lot ministry.

Chad is survived by his spouse, Angela; son, Chad Jr.; twin daughters, Angelica and Cassandra, as well as many other family and friends.

Chad was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Kaye Walde; grandfather; Edward Walde and grandmother, Elaine.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to their children’s college funds or any homeless shelter in New Mexico. The family of Chad and Angela Walde wishes to thank Legacy Church, along with their employers, Los Alamos National Labs and Doughty, Alcaraz & deGraauw, P.A.

Pallbearers will be Santos Trujillo, Matthew Borrego, Chris Gallegos, Anthony Salas, Jim Barragan and Gerard Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers will be Lonnie Foster and football players Chad has coached.

A viewing will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. at Legacy Church, 7201 Central Ave. NW, Alb., NM 87121. Pastor Steve Smothermon of Legacy Church will be officiating. Graveside Service will follow the funeral at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St., Santa Fe, NM 87501.
