CHAD MITCHELL MERCERPassed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in Albuquerque, NM. Chad is survived by his wife, Shannon Burklin; his daughter Ayden Raine Mercer; parents, Brian and Dianna Mercer, his brothers, Richard and Russell Mercer; and his sister, Lanae Jackson. Chad was preceded in passing by his grandfather, Alva G. Clark; grandmother, Esther Mercer; and nephew, Alexander Clark. Chad was born in Pendleton, OR on September 16, 1975 to Brian and Dianna Mercer. He was one of four children raised in Sutherlin, OR and graduated from Sutherlin High School. He joined the Army in 1997 and served as an SPC in communications for four years overseas until 2001. He was presented with an Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon for his tours in Bosnia and Germany. After serving in the Army, Chad moved to Albuquerque where he lived until his passing. We will always remember your quiet humor, your sly smiles, and your muttered under your breath comical comments that would make us stop and do a double take, only to see you laugh and innocently say "What?" You had an incredibly gentle spirit and will always be in our hearts until we see you again!!! Memorial Services will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012, 2:00 p.m., at French - Lomas Chapel.
