Celine Dimas Valdez

Celine Dimas Valdez was born to eternal life in resurrected glory on October 6, 2016. Celine was born August 14, 1923 to Jesus and Maria (Vigil) Dimas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Valdez, and her brothers, John, Bennie and Luis.
She is survived by five siblings, Angela Maestas of Santa Rosa, New Mexico, Joe and Dolores Dimas of Norwalk, California, Benita and John Clark of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Frank and Lillie Dimas of El Paso, Texas and Agnes and Gilbert Romero of Santa Rosa New Mexico. She is also survived by longtime friend, Myda Romero, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, great-grand nieces and nephews as well as countless dear friends including those of the St. Joseph Faith Community of Albuquerque.
Celine was a former member of the Roman Catholic Order of the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother for more than 30 years. Her mission assignments took her to Wisconsin, Kansas, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New Mexico.
A Rosary will be held Friday, October 14, 2016 at 8:15 a.m., followed by a Mass at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande, 5901 Saint Joseph's Avenue NW in Albuquerque. Pallbearers will be Steve Romero, Dominic Romero, Benito Dimas, Michael Maestas, David Ledbetter and Albert Lopez. A private burial will take place at a later date at Sunset Memorial Park.
