Cecilia (Ceil) Ward age 89 of Sandia Knolls New Mexico entered into rest on January 6, 2022 in Albuquerque New Mexico. Ceil Was born on June 4, 1932 to parents Diego and Andrea Tenorio of Santo Domingo Pueblo, New Mexico. Ceil also had an older brother Andres Tenorio.
Ceil majored in dietetics at Bacone College in Muskogee Oklahoma where she made the Dean's List and worked at BCMC hospital in patient food service afterward. She met Hewton (Jack) Ward at his Hamburger Stand and they were married in Las Vegas in 1958. Ceil had one child Cheryene in 1964. She and Jack managed the La Mesa and Loma Verde motels in Albuquerque, NM. In 1974 Ceil began her professional house-keeping business in Sandia Knolls which she retired from in 2009.
Mom liked to sew, work outside taking care of the yard and also liked to cook awesome food for her family. She loved and respected all animals from insects and reptiles to cats, elephants and every creature on the Earth. Ceil is survived by her daughter Cheryene Ward-Stratmeyer.
The viewing will be on Friday, January 28 from 9:00-10:00. The Celebration of Life service will follow from 10:00-11:00. Ceil will be taken to San Pedro Cemetery located on NM road 344 in the East Mountains for a graveside service. Ceil was a fan of color, but not much black.
