Cecil Ruth Lennox

Cecil Ruth Lennox, age 82, passed away on August 9, 2018 in Lovington, NM. Cecil was born in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan on September 9, 1935. He enlisted in the Air Force after graduation and served during the Korean Conflict. During his last year, he was stationed at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, NM, where he met his wife, Charleene Mitchell. At the same time he left the Air Force, Charleene graduated from High School and they were married on August 24, 1957 in Las Vegas, NM.  Cecil earned his teaching degree from N.M. Highland University and his Master’s in Physics at Purdue University in Indiana.  He taught Physics at Manzano High School; Electronics and Robotics at TVI in Albuquerque.  He was also an avid cyclist and golfer. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore R. and Minnie (Ruth) Lennox; and one son, Richard Lennox. He is survived by his wife, Charleene, of Lovington, NM; one daughter, Christina Solley, of Odessa, TX; one son, Robert Lennox, and wife, Michelle, of Portland, OR; one daughter-in-law, Martha Jo Lennox, of Lovington, NM; three grandchildren, Krista Lennox, of Hobbs, NM, Matthew Lennox of Houston, TX and Stephen Lennox of Lubbock, TX; two brothers, Frank and wife, Rena Lennox, of Chicago, IL and T. R. Lennox of Lima, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Del Norte Baptist Church 5800 Montgomery Blvd N.E., Kevin Warner officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
