Catherine Miners

After a short illness, Cathy died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, February 6, 2022.

She will be missed by many including her family, friends, co-workers and the numerous students that she has been involved with over her career at the University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus, Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute and Eastern New Mexico University. Helping her students has been a fulfilling lifelong pleasure which led her to pursue an Executive MBA at the University of New Mexico, Anderson School of Management, receiving her degree in October of 2015. Offering guidance and assistance to students planning their futures has undoubtedly made a difference in many young adult lives. Growing up in Los Alamos, she had a passion for all things Native American and her native friends have made an important contribution to her life.

She is survived by her son and husband, Steven White and Jonathan Lees of River Edge, New Jersey; her father, Duane Wagner of Katy, Texas; her mother, Judith Mead of Albuquerque, New Mexico and her sister and husband, Julia and Michael Garratt of Mancos, Colorado.

In remembrance, she requests that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, in the fight to find a cure for pancreatic cancer.  Cathy's Tribute page was created by her son and can be found by going to pancan.org/diy , search for Steven White under 'Find a Fundraiser'.
